Cambridge Connections: Urban Dance at Endicott, a four-week program of urban dance workshops with a culminating dance performance, aims to bring urban dance styles to Endicott College and the North Shore community. Monkeyhouse, Phunk Phenomenon, and Urbanity Dance, active and successful dance companies of the Boston and Cambridge area, will bring their expertise in Modern, Contemporary, and Urban Street Dance, teaching techniques, and repertory from their companies for a series of workshops and a 90-minute dance performance to be held on Saturday November 6, 2010 at 8:00 pm in the Rose Performance Hall, Center for the Arts, Endicott College, 376 Hale Street, Beverly, Massachusetts.
Cambridge Connections: Urban Dance at Endicott complements Endicott’s developing dance curriculum and provides local families a change to appreciate urban art! Students aged 15 through adult are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to further develop their knowledge in dance. Students can purchase tickets to participate in any of the three, 2-hour workshops on Saturdays October 16, 23, and 30 from 12PM-2PM Ticket holders are invited to stay after class to watch these prominent ensembles in their own rehearsals. A package ticket allows students to attend all three workshops ($30 each) and the concert ($20) for only $90. Tickets can be purchased at www.endicott.edu/centerforthearts with a click on ticketing information, or by leaving a message at the box office at (978) 998-7700.
“It is great to see so many students interested in these art forms and we hope to bring more understanding about them to dancers and audience members with this program,” said Professor Sao Pedro, coordinator of the program.
